Apollo Plastics

The company was formed in the early 1970's as Apollo Industrial Vacuum Formers Ltd. in Strickland Street, Hull.
In 1980 the premises and equipment were leased by Heyday Insulation Ltd., which took over the vacuum forming as Apollo Plastics. Later the company acquired the equipment.
In 1993 the business of Alpha Plastics was acquired and merged within Apollo Plastics.
In May 1997, the company relinquished its lease on the Apollo Industrial Vacuum Formers Ltd. premises and moved to its own 1236 Sq. Metre premises in St. James Street, Hull.
The company is essentially a trade vacuum former with the bulk of its business in the caravan trade. This involves commitment to "just in time" deliveries and weekly short runs of numerous components. Sub-contrators are used for pattern and tool making, screen printing and assembly work.
