Our family-run, seaside holiday centre is in a very special part of the Somerset Levels, with easy access to Cheddar, Wells, Glastonbury and Clarke's Outlet Village. The flat, grassy park enjoys open, panoramic views and has excellent facilities, which are maintained to high standards. We have extensive farm walks and several well-stocked fishing lakes. Our site club, The Beachcomber Inn, offers an extensive menu and nightly entertainment in the main season.

a family with children, a tourer/motorhomer

We stayed on sunnyside field 11. The area is very clean and free of litter and very well laid out with child play areas nearby to every pitch. The site is in a fantastic location. Only a very short walk from the beach. The dog excercise area is massive although the occasional pile of surprise remains on the grass!

The pitches themselves range from being flat and tent friendly to so uneven that a tourer has to ramp up fully to try and be level and definately of no use for a tent! The showers are 50 pence for ten minutes use. Given this I expected the showers to be clean and give a pleasurable shower. However, the showers are not cleaned often enough and there is no where to put shower gel, shampoo or a face flannel unless you have a cubicle with a window...then you have the window ledge.

The toilets are another horror story. With ill fitting toilet seats that injured one of the kids in our camping group to lingering bad odours. The toilets are in simple terms filthy and irregularly cleaned.

One final issue (I know...bear with me) is that the 10 MPH speed limit is not adhered to by many drivers on the site. This happens but never have I seen a warden comment to a speeding camper to ask them to slow down. Although we love the area and will return it will not be Warren farm that we return to.

Having read the previous reviews, I was rather apprehensive about what we were going to find, especially since my aged mother was staying in a static mobile home on Isis Park. There were a lot of sites all around Warren Farm, but once on site and on our pitch, it didn't seem so big. Site was kept very tidy, litter pickers going around every day. Toilets were cleaned several times a day, any mess due to visitors NOT lack of cleanliness.Showers now cost 50p (inflation). Beachcomber Inn was extremely popular and provided very good meals (need to be there by 6.30p.m to get a table to eat at). Even with the large number of meals being sent out,the quality was excellent and the staff were very helpful.Good security on site and on the whole very quiet. Dog walking area was very clean, bins provided and responsible dog owners ensured this.

Property Manager Response (9 Aug 2010):

Thank you for your kind words. We're pleased we exceeded your expectations and look forward to your returning in the future.

we have stayed at Warren Farm first in 1970 then we returned in 2006 then again in 2007.It is a lovely place with everything you could ask for,two shops, laundry take aways etc.
We are responsible dog owners, but the large number of dog mess on the dog exercise areas is disgusting.Perhaps the site owners could site the wardens caravan overlooking this area and anyone not cleaning up after their dogs should be thrown of site

Busy, brash, breezy, sea-side holiday camp. Plenty of things to keep kids occupied, and only 100yds from beach. Vast site with 2 good shops, bars and entertainments nearby. Beachcomber inn had wide range of food, ok,but kids meals were awful.
Pitches not allocated, a bit cramped in August(lots of "super tents"). Showers/toilets clean, but 20p per shower. No smoking sign widely ignored. Laundry available, but no chance of using unless you camp out for opening time! Very noisy until late at night.
Highlight of visit for kids was the daily opportunity to help put the animals to bed, and for the adults the beautiful Turneresque sunsets over the sands.

Practical Caravan Top Sites for Islands June 2005

Warren Farm is a large family-oriented site set on the Somerset Levels. The knowledgeable staff are very helpful and will sort out gas exchange and battery charging for you at the reception.
The un-numbered pitches are all on grass, slightly undulating and separated by single-rail wooden fences and low hedges.
The three modern toilet buildings are clean and tidy; showers cost 20p for ten minutes. Washers, dryers and ironing boards are provided, and chemical and waste disposal points are behind the buildings. Fresh water and grey water disposal points are in the middle of the fields. There are 25 pitches that cater for the disabled and are conveniently located close to the disabled facilities. Dogs are welcome on one field, and there are 40 acres of farm walks and trails nearby on which to exercise them.
Another field offers short-stay or weekend camping only, because it is also the venue for the Wednesday open-air market.
The children’s play area has rope bridges and slides. Kids will also love the pets’ corner, with its chickens, guinea pigs and donkey. There are also pool tables, ten-pin bowling and fishing on the park’s lakes. The Beachcomber Inn bar-restaurant hosts discos and tribute bands, but the noise does not reach the furthest touring fields.

Family entertainment comes in the form of pool tables, ten-pin bowling and fishing on the parks lakes. The on-site bar and restaurant, the Beachcomber Inn, offers a varied menu, plus discos and tribute bands, though, the touring fields are far enough away so that the party noise is never a nuisance.

Warren Farm is just 100 metres away from the Somerset coast, against the backdrop of the Mendip Hills in a genuine working farm. Warren Farm's combination of exquisite modern facilities and a location to die for has played its part in an award-winning reputation.

Brean Sands' four miles of golden beaches offer something for everybody: walking, horse riding, fishing, or just kicking back and whiling away the day while the children wear themselves out in the surf. For those who want to enjoy the sea a little more actively, tide times are displayed at the farm's reception.

Warren Farm houses 500 level pitches which range from busier areas near the main holiday complex to quieter spots overlooking neighbouring farmland. There are six modern toilet blocks, with private washrooms for disabled guests. There are also well-stocked shops, a café and restaurant, fully equipped and perfectly maintained launderettes (as well as free washing facilities for those who wish to do their own) and an off-licence.

The leisure activities include a fishing lake well-stocked with trout and coarse fish. There is a cabaret bar with nightly, live entertainment in peak season. Children are more than adequately catered for, too, in both their well-supervised indoor and outdoor play areas. This is an ideal destination for family and couples alike.
