Practical Motorhome Snail Trail recommended park Feb 2007

This site is part of a large and impressive leisure centre with pools, spa baths, café and sauna. It is just a short walk from the centre of Kirkwall and a short drive from Kirkwall ferry terminal. Site fees include the use of most of the centre’s facilities.
Of Orkney’s two main sites, it’s the least picturesque, with some road noise from traffic heading into Kirkwall. But it’s so convenient for the town, you’re bound to use it at least once during your stay.
Also, the facilities at the Pickaquoy Centre are so close – including a cinema/concert venue and a bar – that you can even enjoy an ‘evening in’.
