A quiet site with good reviews by previous visitors.
As usual a really lovely visit. We have been visiting here 2 or 3 times a year as a family and have never tired of the friendly hospitality of the Lamb family. They have always made us very welcome and provide a well managed/run site, with excellent clean facilities. Our family have grown up from being toddlers to teenagers, visiting Doe Park. They have always found plenty to do on site and the owners have never made them feel unwelcome as children/young people. The surrounding countryside is amazing and very beautiful. We have walked and cycled over the years and have many happy memories of visiting places such as Barnard Castle, Eggleston, High Force, Middleton in Teesdale and Hamsterly Forest. We describe the area to friends and family as one of Englands last beautiful unspoilt areas. We would recommend the whole package to anyone considering a holiday in this area and would thank the Lamb family for sharing their beautiful spot of England with us, creating many happy and peaceful memories for us.
You will find it very difficult to find a better managed site than Doe Park near the village of Cotherstone near Barnard Castle County Durham. The minute you arrive you feel completely chilled out as the friendly owners take you to show you which pitches are free to use. The site is in lovely open country yet just 5 minutes walk to a village with a shop and two pubs. Plus the bonus of being on the main bus route to Barnard Castle and Middleton. ( Every hour). Visitors will find the pitches well spaced and many/ most hard standing with grass for awnings . Two well kept toilet blocks are aways available due to cleaning rota. Keen walkers can join the Teesdale Railway tracks as part of the national pathways so you can walk for miles without seeing a car , great for dogwalks and cyclists alike. You have the choice of a few pubs as well on route as you pass the villages that used to be served by the railway. Our view... Doe Park is one of the best sites for caravaners/motorhomers in the North East...Dont miss it..
We always use Caravan club site,s But thought we would give Doe park and try after hearing so many good reviews. An are we glad we give this site a try. FIRST CLASS site very clean and well run The owners are so friendly. great walks from the site to great pubs. We have booked lots more weekends at this site can not wait to go back. Great walk to rose and crown pub along the railway path also the village is only 10 min walk with few pubs. Rose and crown at Romaldkirk also lets dog,s in.
We were driving along the Teesdale route from Barnard Castle towards Middleton in Teesdale. This is a lovely area which is great for touring, walks, county pubs, and welcoming people. We found Doe Park by chance open in March and booked in for a 2 nights. It is a super site which has lovely views with neat spacious pitches most with gravel hard standing and grass. Not a sign of mud anywhere and the showers, hook up and facilites are just immaculate. We are booked up again for 17th March . The best point is only 10 minutes walk into the village of Cotherstone with two pubs and lots of county walks and public transport. You can pitch up and forget driving.

Having grown out of a CL, Doe Park has developed into one of the largest and best parks in the area. And those wishing to escape the stresses and strains of modern-day life will be glad to know that despite its size, it still retains a rural and personal feel.
The generously sized pitches are just one of the features that make this site a cut above the rest. Divided into six separate areas, they offer great views out over the surrounding countryside, while the trees and bushes on site complete the tranquil rural feel.
Situated on the western edge of the beautiful village of Cotherstone in Teesdale, the site has a smooth access road leading up to a fine 17th century farmhouse. The reception area is spacious, allowing you to park easily when booking in. All the facilities are well maintained.
Because there is no shop on site, campers must stock up on supplies in the local village shop, which is a short walk from the site. The owner of the site encourages campers to support the local grocery store, which incorporates a post office. This helps to foster
a harmonious relationship between tourists and residents. There are also several good pubs within walking distance of the site.

Doe Park is a family-run site catering exclusively for touring caravans. It is set on the edge of the beautiful little village of Cotherstone in Teesdale. Originally a Caravan Club CL, it has been developed to become one of the largest parks in the area. Yet an intimate and personal feel remains.
The site is located on the western edge of Cotherstone, and has an excellent access road leading up to its splendid 17th-century farmhouse. The reception area has plenty of space to park while you are booking in. The whole place is run in a refreshingly relaxed manner and there is a good choice of well-spaced and level pitches, which are divided up into six separate areas. The park is carefully landscaped with trees and bushes, and has an unspoilt look, with superb views out over the surrounding countryside.
There is no shop on site, but visitors should be able to buy all they need from the nearby village, which can be easily reached on foot. The owner encourages residents to support the grocery store there, which also incorporates a post office. By using the village amenities, caravanners help creates a harmonious atmosphere between locals and tourists something other park owners would do well to emulate.
Cotherstone is a beautiful and peaceful village; there is no noticeable road noise from the main entrance. There is a tranquil feel to the site and the surrounding countryside. Care has obviously been taken in maintaining the facilities, which are in excellent order. Doe Park provides a real escape to the country.

This family-run touring site is in sheltered parkland, near Doe Park, a 17th-century residence, and is part of a working farm. New arrivals will be met and greeted personally by one of the site owners, Muriel, Keith or Stephen Lamb. They are more than happy to advise visitors on places of interest and local attractions. Although the reception block is purpose-built, you may be directed to the farmhouse, formerly Leadgard Hall, a beautiful Grade II listed building.
The site is between the villages of Cotherstone and Romaldkirk, and within easy reach of the Upper Dale, with its spectacular High Force Falls and the Pennine Way. Balder Banks Nature Reserve, which is part of the farm, borders the site, as do a number of other walks.
Where the Balder meets the Tees has been designated as a Site of Special Scientific interest because of the importance of its flowers and insects. Birdwatchers too, flock to the area, while anglers can enjoy private fishing on the site’s own stretch of river, or on local reservoirs. Golf, a leisure centre, riding and pony trekking are also all available. The 70 pitches are spacious with mown lawns and neatly trimmed trees and hedges.
All pitches have electricity (10A), while 20 are hardstanding. The site is well-lit at night and there are excellent facilities in the centrally heated toilet and shower block and laundry room with ample free water.
