Arriving at Lomond woods and collecting keys I notice the traffic noise on the main A82 then I was knock back when they asked for a £50 deposit Which they would of kept if the caravan didn’t come to there approval because the caravan was inspected on leaving which was disgusting as we was left waiting like naughty children why a member of staff went to inspect the caravan we are both in are sixties we didn’t needed to be treated like this . The other point was the Gates was locked at 10 pm and not opened until 9 am the good point was the caravan was immaculate and the staff was appreciable and friendly.

Practical Motorhome Independent Site Reviews
This site benefits from a pretty, woodland, setting and is a 10 minute walk from the shores of Loch Lomond and
a couple of miles from Balloch (from there it is a 20-minute train journey to Glasgow).
There are lots of static caravans on this site, but
these are kept neatly separated from the touring area by a row of trees.
The majority of pitches are hardstanding and very slightly sloping, although not to the extent where levelling blocks are required. A few pitches are grouped within walled areas but most of them are divided either by trees, or by areas of grass. Picnic tables are dotted around the site to add to the relaxing holiday mood. The toilet facility, accessed with a key given to you on arrival, is spacious and even though it looks a little dated, it is kept warm and spotless.
Being so close to the loch, you are allowed to use dinghies and other water sports equipment here. At the loch, you can hire canoes and bikes. The visitor attraction 'Loch Lomond Shores' offers shops, restaurants, exhibitions and nature trails.
Opportunities for walking are endless: in the surrounding Highland hills, in Lomond Woods, and along the Clyde coastline.
l 38.2 miles to Largs (pictured above): a hugely popular sea-side town on Scotland’s beautiful Clyde coast. Take a walk from the pier, south along the promenade to Carinie’s Quay then continue along the path which curves around Largs bay.

Practical Caravan Top 100 Parks Awards 2005
Lomond Woods Caravan Park is a well-run and long-established park. The touring caravan areas are located away from the park’s significant number of static caravan and separated from them by a row of trees.
The site is well-signposted on all approaches to Balloch on the A811 and
is located very close to the southern tip of Loch Lomond, although the views are mainly of woodland and countryside. The Village of Balloch is within a 5 -10 minute walk from the site and has a wide range of pubs, shops and restaurants The touring pitches are slightly sloping throughout the site, but the management has ensured that most of them are hardstanding and require no levelling blocks. A majority of the pitches are divided by grass and trees, and a few lie within walled areas.
The site’s one-way system is signposted and rigorously enforced and the roadways are all in excellent condition.
The site feels comfortable and functional. There is just one toilet building, but it is very large compared with those at most sites, and is heated all year. It is an old building but is well-maintained and remains open 24 hours a day. You access it with the standard security key, obtained on arrival, which gives entry to all the on-site facilities.
Fans of water sports should note that jet skis on trailers are prohibited here. However, sailing dinghies, canoes and other water sports equipment are allowed.

Lomond Woods Caravan Park is a well-run and long-established park, with a significant number of static caravans tastefully located away from the touring caravan areas, separated by a row of trees.
The site is easily accessed from a roundabout on the outskirts of Balloch and is located very close to the southern tip of Loch Lomond, although the views are of woodland and countryside. Balloch’s attractions are within a couple of miles of the site and include such a wide range of facilities that the on-site leisure facilities and shop are largely unnecessary.
The touring pitches are slightly sloping throughout, but the site management has ensured that the majority are hardstanding and require no axle levelling. The pitches are divided by grass and trees, but a few are in walled areas, too.
