We were hoping for an enjoyable weekend break after friends of ours had recommended the park to us (plus the park's website showed very deceptive photos).
However, when we got there, it was completely different to what we were expecting. We were left waiting for almost 25 minutes for a staff member to open the office. When they finally arrived, they were very cold. Once we were shown the 'plot', we had already decided that it wasn't for us. There were no separations between the caravans or tents, so the park was more or less a field full of randomly arranged vans and tents, with young Eastern Europeans shouting, playing music and running around noisily.
Admittedly, the lake was clean and had beautiful swans swimming around. That certainly looked great and the sun setting over it was superb. The toilets were fine but were miles away from the majority of the site.
Overall, it was a complete mess and such a waste of great surroundings.
We are new to touring with our caravan. This is the first year but we have visited at least twelve sites on our short but varied touring life.
This site is the reason we got into touring and is exactly what we love about the life style.
A relaxed non regimented site with excellent facilities and location, friendly helpful staff and everything at hand to ensure a great stay. A mixture of statics, tourers and tents and access to every water activity such as yachting, windsurfing pedallos etc on the on site lake, also perfect for dog owners with some excellent walks at your disposal. This was our first visit, but it most definitely will not be our last.
