Set in the heart of woodland in the Trossachs National Park, this site is wonderfully quiet and secluded, yet it is just three miles from the town of Aberfoyle. The site is easy to access from the main road, since the approach and entrance are plenty wide enough even for the largest twin-axle units.
The spacious hardstanding pitches are arranged on terraced rows, so they are perfectly level despite the fact that much of the site is on a hill. Each row is divided from the next by silver birches, which provide beautiful colour in autumn, while more shade is provided by the mature trees around the site’s perimeter. Most of the pitches are fully serviced with fresh-water and grey-water drainage, and each has a TV point.
The well-appointed and
pristine washblock is located
at the centre of the site and is heated all year round. However, bear in mind that while there is wheelchair access to the gents’ toilets, there are no sanitary facilities provided specifically
for the disabled.
The site’s forest location
offers direct access to many walking and cycling tracks,
and the site’s own bike shop
hires cycles out to visitors. Alternatively, take advantage of the nearby sports and
leisure centre for just £2 per session (£1.50 for children).
A well-stocked shop and helpful information from the owners complete the list of facilities that will help make for an extremely enjoyable stay.

The Trossachs Holiday Park lies three miles south of Aberfoyle and is easily found from the main road. The approach is attractive and accessible, even for larger outfits.
The park is well organised with generous touring areas. All pitches are hardstanding and are arranged in terraced rows, dotted with silver birch trees. Average pitch sizes are 110sqm, although many are even larger. The pitches are not physically separated from one another, but their sense of spaciousness helps create a secluded feel. And there is ample shade from the trees around the site’s perimeter. The managers run the site in a warm and friendly manner, and the shop contains an excellent range of provisions.
The chemical disposal point is housed at the end of one terrace, and the immaculate toilet building is centrally located and heated throughout the year. Although the gents’ toilets can be accessed using a wheelchair, bear in mind that the facilities have not been specifically adapted for disabled use .
The children’s play area is well equipped and the games room has a TV. Guests can also take advantage of a cycle-hire facility.
The site owners have negotiated discounted entry to the nearby leisure centre, which is a real boon when the weather turns nasty. In good weather, however, you will want to get out and explore the spectacular scenery. There is easy access to woodland behind the site, which is covered in bluebells every spring.

The site owners run the site with a friendly manner. Their shop area contains an excellent range of provisions, but no fresh fruit and vegetables. The chemical disposal point is housed at the end of one terrace, with its own lighting.
The central toilet block is adorned with hanging baskets around its eaves and is well maintained and decorated, and heated throughout the year. There aren't really any disabled facilities though: disabled access is possible only through to the gents' toilets, and the washroom itself has not been adapted.
The children’s play area is equipped with a good range of apparatus, and there is a TV in the games room. There is an independent cycle hire facility, as well as bike maintenance, and guides are available for cycle groups on site.
Active types can take advantage of a discounted rate at the nearby leisure centre, while walkers will enjoy the beautiful woodland behind the site. Each spring, the woods are carpeted with bluebells. The site is located right on the edge of the Loch Ard Forest, which has a wonderful visitor centre. It’s also close to Lake of Menteith – Scotland’s only lake (as pub-quiz buffs will know, all the others are lochs), and there’s fabulous walking and cycling at nearby Loch Venachar or Loch Ard.
