Let me start by saying this is a really well ket site in beautifull tranquil surroundings, as in reviews I have to say the toilet and shower blocks are some of the cleanest we have seen,
The gates are locked at 23:00hrs till 07:00hrs and woe betide anyone who tries to enter or leave between these hours, not that you are held captive but if you have visitors as was in our case you are made to feel that they MUST leave before 23:00 our friend has a disabilty and becouse the rules only allow one car at a time on pitch (fair enough) I took them to the gate at 23:20hrs only to be frightend half to death by the park owner banging on my car window remenstrating about waking the site up by driving around, I tried to explain but to no avail, this somewhat put a damper on the rest of our stay. The park is VERY poorly lit at night so you must have your lights on when driving to and from your pitch. I noticed over our stay that though the evenings were quite warm very few people sat outside thier vans or tents.

If you read other reviews of this site elsewhere online you will find two recurring themes: firstly the site is very nice, which I agree with, and secondly that the staff can be difficult. We were accosted (myself and my daughter) late in the evening, well after dark, when we had just returned home to the site having had technical problems with our motorhome, and were shouted at because in the dark we had accidentally driven slightly over some of the. I would mention here that the site is extremely poorly lit, with no way of seeing the road at night except in your headlights. Despite our attempts to explain and apologise for our mistake, the attitude did not soften. We were told that we would not be allowed to visit the site again because of our violation of the rule "Do not drive on the grass." They don't give refunds if you want to shorten your stay, or allow you to hold a credit for a day you don't use.

We visited this site at the end of September this year. It was one of the most enjoyable camp sites that we have stayed at. The park is exceptionally clean and very well maintained, the showers and washing facilities are second to none, even down to the fresh flowers on the vanity basins. We have two dogs and the site has beautiful walks along the river and through fields of corn and there are also woodland walks to enjoy. There are play areas provided for the children and farm animals to visit. The park provides both hard standing and grass pitches of a generous size, mostly with electrical hook ups and mains water. The shop although small, caters for all the basic needs. A delightful location with an abundance of wildlife including rabbits, squirrels and many rare species of birds, all adding to the overall enjoyment of this superbly, peaceful camp site. This is certainly well worth a visit and you will want to stay again.

Practical Caravan Great Escapes recommended park Oct 2006

With Tanner Farm Park’s three original oast houses visible from many of the pitches, there’s no mistaking the fact that you’re in the heart of Kent. This is a large site, much of it graced by beautifully maintained lawns. In spring, the hawthorn and chestnut flowers among the mature hedges and trees around the edge of the site make it particularly attractive.
Most of the pitches here are flat and are arranged along the site’s perimeter or around clusters of trees. This set-up leaves lots of open space for children to play. The sanitary facilites are kept in immaculate condition and are brightened up by the addition of vases of fresh flowers.
Garden lovers will appreciate this site’s proximity to the National Trust-owned Sissinghurst Castle Gardens and many other popular attractions in Kent. You’ll find the owners of this wonderful site to be very friendly and helpful.

This park’s greatest asset is its Kentish farmyard charm and sheer tranquillity. As you drive into the site you pass oast houses, a duck pond and
a rambling farmhouse. This is Darling Buds of May country, and you almost expect the Larkin family to greet you in reception. Fortunately, Tanner Farm is much tidier and more orderly than the Larkin place.
With its friendly atmosphere, this medium-sized site has been awarded five stars by the British Tourism Council, and it’s easy to see why. Beautifully maintained, the park provides old-world charm alongside up-to-date facilities. All around are orchards and fields – and there are decent dog walks straight from the site. Advance booking is advised due to the park’s popularity.
A well-equipped playground is sited on soft bark chippings. Children love being able to pet the farm animals and bottle-feed the lambs in spring. Many guests don’t stray far, preferring to stay on site. If you do tear yourself away, the surrounding area offers great attractions, such as Sissinghurst Castle and Gardens, Ightam Mote, Bodium Castle and Battle Abbey. Beach-lovers will be in their element with Hastings and Camber Sands within easy reach.

Practical Motorhome Independent Site Reviews.

This medium-sized site has been awarded a five-star rating by the British Tourism Council, and it's easy to see why. Each season at the park has a different feel to it, with the surrounding countryside clothed in striking colours according to the time of year.
The park, with its friendly, relaxed atmosphere, is beautifully maintained, and poses ‘olde-worlde' charm alongside up-to-date facilities. It is situated in the middle of a 150-acre park, deep in the heart of The Weald, and the farm has an authentic Kentish feel to it, with beautiful oasthouses at the entrance to the site.
The two toilet and shower buildings are clean and well-equipped. Pitches are large, mostly level, grassy, affairs - laid out around the perimeter of the site. They are divided by grass and fences. Some hardstandings are available. Some shade is offered by hedgerow and trees around the park.
The site entrance is wide and easy to spot, and it has a key-operated barrier for security.
A shop provides basic groceries, and there is a well-equipped playground for children, with soft bark chippings. The park's greatest asset is the tranquility it offers. Many guests don't stray too far, preferring to stay on site and enjoy the peace. If they do tear themselves away, the surrounding area offers attractions such as Sissinghurst Castle and Gardens, Ightam Mote, Bodium Castle and Battle Abbey.
Beach lovers will be in their element, since Hastings and Camber Sands are both within easy reach.
There are plenty of attractions on the park, itself, though - kids will love being able to feed the farm animals including horses and pigs, while adults can take walks into the charming countryside beyond the farm. It's not uncommon to see wildlife, including badgers and hedgehogs, around the site.

Making your way through the High Weald to Tanner Farm, past hop fields and orchards, you can’t help being struck by the near ‘perfick’ Kentishness of the site’s location. There’s even an oast-house beside reception and a duck pond next to the approach road.

The 15-acre site is split into smaller and larger pitching areas which are separated by trees and shrubs. All of these have electrical hook-ups (16A) and 26 are hardstanding. The site itself is surrounded by woodland. Hikers can get straight into it through level paths around the field margins. Children will love the farm’s animal menagerie, including shire-horses. There’s a sports field with goal posts and two play areas with swings, roundabouts and climbing apparatus.

Washing facilities are decorated with freshly cut flowers which are changed every day. The heated shower blocks provide plenty of room to get changed. The laundry’s washing machines, spin dryers and large sinks are more than capable of keeping the rest of you clean.

If you want to explore a little further there is plenty to do. Sissinghurst, Scotney Gardens, Biddenden Cider factory, Leeds Castle, Finchcocks Museum of Music, Bewl Water, Lamberhurst Vineyard, Bedgebury Pinetum and The Hop Farm are all in easy reach. To help you decide where to go, the site has an extremely useful information kiosk stocked with pamphlets and maps for all the local attractions. The staff can also give you directions to the nearest pub – The West End – which is about three miles away in the village of Marden.
