"In the heart of the beautiful Mendip Hills"
Cheddar, Mendip Heights Club Site is in the heart of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty – the Mendip Hills. Midway between Cheddar Gorge and Wells, there are many attractions in this area of Somerset and the south west.
When I first went on this website, i have to say that the last paragraph on the first page is so out of date, they have a fab showerblock and you don't pay for them. Great site friendly staff. Its great if you like walking as they have a walking book with 8 fab walks in it. Cost £2.99 well worth it. A great site for getting to Bath, Bristol, Cheddar & Wookey caves. Well worth a visit.

Cheddar Mendip Heights is a medium-sized rural park in the village of Priddy, the highest village in the Mendips. This is a well-established and peaceful site that offers a mix of high-quality essential facilities and a friendly welcome. It has recently become part of the Camping and Caravanning Club's network of sites. Pitches are set in three fields marked with stone walls. They are arranged around the site's perimeter and individual pitches are divided by grass and walls. The access road is gravel, and turns directly off the side road into Priddy from the B3135. The site is not best approached from the west (Cheddar) side, since you'll have to take your vehicle through Cheddar Gorge (twisty and steep). A much more relaxed approach is to come from the east on the B3135.
Situated within a 15-minute drive from Wookey Hole Caves, the Cheddar Gorge and Gough's Cave, Wells and Glastonbury, this park provides a great base for exploration and walking. Activities such as caving, climbing and abseiling can be arranged from the office. James, Mendip Heights' on-site chef, provides gourmet take-away food in the evenings, while the shop sells fresh bread all day as well as groceries, maps, sweets, alcohol, newspapers, toys and camping equipment.
Well-behaved dogs are permitted, provided they are kept on a short lead. A field for a dog walk has been leased from a neighbouring farmer.
The sanitary block was refurbished in 2003 and power showers were added. These cost £1 for four tokens, with each providing five minutes of hot water.
There are plenty of wonderful attractions in the area, including Court Hill Farm country park, Wells Cathedral, and Burcott Mill (near Wells) a restored Victorian flour mill.
