Border Forest Caravan Park is a small family run park located on the edge of the Keilder Forest within Northumberlands National Park. We're approximately 6 miles south of the Scottish Border, an area steeped in history and only a short journey to Hadrians Wall. We're also an ideal base for exploring Northumberlands Heritage Coast, the Scottish Borders and Newcastle.
Our surrounds are an ideal environment for outdoor activity. We're within easy access of the Pennine way ideal for walking, mountain biking, pony trekking and nature watching.
Our pitches can accomdate tourers, motorhomes and tents on natural well drained level grass pitches. We also have a number of privately owned static holiday caravans on site.

There have been some changes recently with the addition of the small toilet block in the middle of the caravan field with wash up area and fridge/freezer,
There are even books and DVDs on a shelf, fortunately this does cut the walk from the camping field by 150m and is kept very clean, however it’s not for the shy as it is total mixed toilet block with little privacy for the individual.
The normal toilet and shower block is also very clean with the addition of a large shower which I’m told in the female side is a total wet room with toilet.
I do like the touch of the daily clean towels for use and hand cleaner which is usually stolen on other sites along with free washing up liquid (no! not left by others I know what your thinking)
Yes, it is far from shops and tailored entertainment and you do need to make sure you bring it all with you. Other reviews have stated locations and distances restaurants etc that’s why we went. You really can just sit back and relax here, and if your up early enough watch the deer in the vally fields.
There are many places to visit within a relatively short drive and on one extremely wet morning an hour’s trip to Newcastle and the movies saved the day.
An extra special touch is the Ant and Deck (horses) or bubble and squeak (pigs) pet walk most nights after tea (or dinner if you prefer) they get a walk through the site so the kids of all ages can pat them and watch some little tricks. Nice!
A point to note is the camping field cannot currently be used during the week so give them a call if your going as many passers through were unable to camp. The pictures on their website does reflect the beauty and forest walks right on your doorstep but it comes at a price - Midges “thousands of um”

As a new caravanner, this is the kind of site that put me off camping all these years ago! Tired looking and very basic facilities. That said it was probably clean enough and many may like the 'spartan' approach. The area is nice enough if a little boring.

BASIC SITE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE BRILLIANT SCENERY AND HISTORY BUT NOT MY CUP OF TEA !!! PERFECT FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO LIKE TO BE WITH ONE WITH THE COUNTRY SIDE !!! AND YOU NEED TO PACK SOME SANDWICHES TO GO TO THE LOCAL SHOP ! PILLOW COULD BE A GOOD IDEA ASWELL
