Wild Rose Park, Cumbria
Have just returned from a wonderful and relaxing short break at Wild Rose (July 08). This is a picturesque and well-serviced park that has good-sized pitches and excellent facilities including take-away, laundrette and well stocked shop. All the staff were helpful and friendly, there are plenty of activities for children indoors and out. They also have an excellent area for dogs to be let off the lead – ours had brilliant time. Only down side was the pool area - we felt should have been manned as some kids and adults ignored the poolside rules, which could be dangerous for them and others.
Wild Rose is an immaculate family run park. It was nice to see members of the family maintaining the park. Perfect for our young children as there was plenty to keep them occupied. A great location for days out in the lakes. We will most certainly be returning during '06!

Practical Caravan Top 100 Parks Award 2008
Situated a few miles from Appleby in the lovely Eden Valley, Wild Rose Park offers striking views over the Cumbrian countryside. It is well placed for exploring the Lake District, but you don’t need to go far to find great things to do. Fishing and horse riding are both available close by and the site has a play area, a games room, a TV/cinema room, tennis/badminton court and an outdoor pool. There is also a shop and restaurant/takeaway. Many pitches are fully serviced, with electric, water, waste and TV aerial hook-ups.

Practical Caravan Top 100 Parks Awards 2005
Wild Rose Park is in the Eden valley, approximately three miles from the village of Appleby-in-Westmorland. It is well signposted from the B6260, and the entrance is clearly marked with a colourful floral display, making it very welcoming.
This site is set deep in the Cumbrian countryside, with beautiful views over the valley. The only noise you hear is from caravanners on holiday enjoying themselves.
On arrival at reception, you will be shown to your pitch in one of four distinct touring areas. Hazel Heights is hardstanding, with adjacent areas of grass, and each pitch has full service facilities. Chester’s Challenge also has fully-serviced pitches but in groups of two or three separated by hedges. Braithwaite Fold and Donkeys’ Nest are less formal areas, with slightly sloping grass pitches. These are ideal for caravans and tents alike, and have fresh and grey water drainage. Six super pitches have their own patio area with a picnic table, water, electric and satellite TV points. There are three immaculate toilet blocks on site, all near the touring areas and surrounded by lush flowerbeds. The on-site shop sells groceries and a range of caravan accessories.
There is no shortage of activities to keep you and your children happy – during the high season there is even a children’s cinema. Within easy distance of the site there are facilities for fishing and horse riding. The pretty village of Appleby is very close by, or for some truly amazing scenery you should take a ride on the famous Settle to Carlisle railway.
