And recommends it for:
a couple, a tourer/motorhomer

Peewit Caravan Park is a long established site to which people return. It feels remarkably secluded and peaceful considering its proximity to industry and town.

Pitching area is well sheltered on all sided by tall trees. Ground is level and well drained which results in perfect pegging conditions. Whole site is well lit at night. I addition to the touring area, there is also a substantial number of statics which as far as I was concerned, have no adverse effect on us tourers.

A satellite system has been recently installed to some pitches. If you like television in your ‘van, it is well worth the £1 a night as tv reception from normal aerials is patchy.

Washing facilities are very good, access is with key for which there is a £10 returnable deposit. There is no charge for showers and you get Classic Gold Radio gently playing in the background, which I thought was nice. There is also an outside washing up area with a 10p charge for hot water. This I felt was not an attempt to generate revenue, but simply a method of preventing anybody leaving the hot tap on.

Site is very family friendly with pleasant play area and opportunity for children to ride their bikes / scooters.

Site is very dog friendly with no charge for dogs. There is a nice dog walk on footpaths that go round the outside of the site.

The seafront is an easy walk. You go out the back gate (You need to ask at Reception for the combination to get back in) then follow the footpath up uneven steps, turn right over railway bridge and you will see Lidl. Seafront is approximately another 300M in front of you.

Customer service is very good. There is plenty of literature on places to visit, and the staff were very helpful on where to go and which were best fish and chip shops etc. Look out for the occasional entertainments that Peewit put on; we were there for their end of season ‘bash’ which was fun.

To sum up: The owners of Peewit put in a lot of effort to keep their site a well maintained and pleasant place to be; clearly have not forgotten that people go there for a holiday.

I have just returned from a stay at Peewit caravan park. It was my 1st time in my caravan & I must say I definately chose the right place to start caravaning. The moment I arrived I was greeted by friendly helpful staff. The site itself is very well kept & looks beautiful this time of year. The electic hook up was simple to use (I had the wrong attatchment & the staff sorted me the correct one out) The w.c/showers were very clean & bright. The showers were free & there was washing up facilities which was ideal for me as I only have a small sink! I will most definately be returning as soon as possible & see Peewit caravan site as somewhere I will be staying at a lot, Many thanks Suzy H
