We booked the luxury five star campsite advertising being campsite of the year 2010, more like 1940's concentration camp!!! Tents were pitched on top of each other, screaming kids from 5am until 1am and when we went to reception to complain the next day and to ask if we could cancel the other three nights we had booked we were told it would have to go the Board of Directors Meeting and no refund would be given but we were offered a credit note to come back at another time, having driven 400 miles for our holiday!!! The whole place is a total joke certainly not five star. Before we booked we checked they had a noise rule and was told yes it was no noise after 10.30 pm and 8 am but when asked about this at the reception and pointed out we had had no sleep were told we had to expect noise at peak times. No sleep for days, high metal fences with barbed wire and not enough dated toilets and bathrooms to go round massive queues!!! Do not go on holiday park it was rubbish we had to stay out until midnight each night if we did not want to sit and listen to the bad language, peoples conversations as the tents were on top of each other, you could not even get a car between the tents and football being kicked at our tent. We thought we would be able to sit outside and chill - no chance, staff rude and most unhelpful a surreal place just like hi-di-hi!!!!!DON'T BOOK THIS HOLIDAY PARK
wot a fab site, huge well kept pitches which where very flat but remained resonably dry even after a few heavy downpours.friendly helpfull staff.the toilets where clean and spacious and the on site shop was well stocked and resonably priced.fun to be had by all ages in the leisure park which is included in the holiday price if u book for more than 2 nite bargin !!!!!! and we loved the fact that we could use all the unmanned parks after they closed it to the public at 6pm.a wonderfull holiday enjoyed by all the age groups in our party, the kids being 5,10,12 and the eldest in out party being 72.....we will deffinatly be visitin this park again.well done woodlands keep up the good work !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Woodlands Leisure & Caravan Park, Dartmouth, Devon
Immaculate site, unable to find fault. The pitches are large, level with plenty of space for the children to play. The toilets and showers look & smell like new and are very well maintained. They also have individual family bathrooms if preferred. Small on site shop with gifts, groceries & also cafe which runs evening take aways. If you stay longer than 2 nights you gain unlimited free access to leisure park...my kids were quite happy to stay on site all week. Fabulous water rides, play areas farm and huge indoor play barn. Great value for money.

Woodlands is a large,
pretty site within easy reach of some of South Devon’s most beautiful countryside
and beaches, including the popular Blackpool Sands. It is
set on a gently sloping hill amid farmland but, because it is terraced, only a few pitches
will require levelling blocks. Pitches are arranged in small groups separated by hedges, creating an intimate, friendly
feel wherever you are located.
The washblocks are huge, modern and well kitted out for
all your needs. But the biggest draw has to be the neighbouring 60-acre family activity park, to which free entry is included in the price of the pitch if you stay for two nights or more. Woodlands Leisure Park comprises outdoor activities and rides, including water slides, toboggan runs,
pedal boats and go-karts. There’s even an indoor area if the weather takes a turn for the worse.
The friendly staff at Woodlands make this a very relaxing place to stay, but you’ll get best value from your visit if you make the most of the Leisure Park. However, you can also benefit from discounts to several other local attractions.

Woodlands Leisure Park has something for everyone, whether you are looking for a quiet break in the country or an active family holiday. The site is home to one of the largest indoor leisure complexes in the UK and has a variety of adventure playgrounds for children. The new pool complex has also recently opened and its indoor theme park is as big as a football pitch.
But those who prefer more natural pursuits can take advantage of unlimited walks in the surrounding lakes and woodland. There is also a fine on-site falconry centre which houses birds including an eagle owl and Peruvian vultures. Younger children will enjoy the mini-zoo with its collection of llamas, wallabies, Sheika deer and more traditional farm animals.
Despite the activities, the site is extremely peaceful. The 220 grass pitches are in excellent condition and the vast majority offer 10A electric hook-up. They gently slope but are large and terraced. Washing facilities are also excellent. The two modern, heated toilet blocks are well-maintained and have built-in laundry rooms and dishwashing. The newer block has private showers and seven family shower cubicles.
Should you want to venture out you will find plenty to do in the area. Dartmouth and the South Hams beaches are within easy reach, and there are plenty of places to fish, play golf or go riding. Dogs are also welcome on the site, and kennels are provided if you want to spend some time in the leisure park.
