Casey's Caravan Park is situated on the edge of Sheephaven Bay in the fishing village of Downings, 25 miles from Letterkenny. The site is bordered on one side by the main road and on the other by a safe sandy blue flag beach which stretches for one mile.
Fed up with this site constantly being promised better showers toilets etc. ... avoid this park its the dearest park in ireland a family of 4 cost a caravan awning electric and showers 48 euro a night. Lovely beach and harbour best place in ireland but for the caravan park
Had always wanted to visit downings and when i did with my family was very disappointed the charges per night where ridiculous there is an extra 10 euro per night to pitch your awning!! Plus 2 euro to use the shower. The site never stopped with drunk people all night the noise was excessive and not family friendly
I stayed here with my young family and was very disappointed. We were told on the phone the charge for touring caravan was 20 euro per night plus 5 euro per night electricity, however when we arrived we were informed that to erect an awning was an extra 10 euro per night!! Plus 2 euro for the showers. On top of this it was extremely noisy come night time, we were wakend countless times throughout the night by loud shouting, fighting etc this went on until the sun was coming up, had planned to stay a week and left after 2 days. Beach is beautiful
We stayed at Caseys in May 2009. We found the site very 'down at heel', tatty, not very clean. All in all, not worth anywhere near what is being charged. However, the site is in an amazing area and, if you go to Donegal (which you should), you must do the nearby Atlantic Drive. Also, it's right next to the beach so would be good for families but don't expect anything fancy, you will be disappointed!!
