"Spot dolphins on Scotland’s sunshine coast"
Although part of a beautiful Highland forest, our Club Site at Nairn is level and sheltered. The nearby Moray Firth is frequented by dolphins (which featured in the BBC Springwatch series), and you may be lucky enough to spot a red squirrel on the site.
We arrived at the campsite on a very wet day, most of the site was flooded as there had been alot of rain. The warden showed us to our pitch which was one of the drier areas. The site is set in woodland so the pitches are sheltered and there are a lot of rabbits. The reception is nice and there is a lot of local information including dolphin watching which we had come for. There is also a small park for the children and a laundrette.
The negatives were, the showers and toilets although clean enough needed updating as they were in a prefabricated building and there were no separate wash cubicles. The laundrette relied on tokens purchased from reception which was only open for an hour and a half in the morning and the same in the afternoon. The site was also next to a busy road and a small industrial estate/quarry so at times there was alot of noise. Apart from this we had a lovely time as the surrounding area is beautiful with plenty of things to do and we were lucky enough to see dolphins!
